OBHS Substance Pro-Fee
The following positions within Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatry, Inpatient Adult Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency Services, CARES, and Outpatient Behavioral Health Services are offering the opportunity to enroll in a new program offering a cash incentive to recognize your work treating patients with substance use disorders. This program is sponsored through the ACCESS (Advancing Careers, Competencies, and Equity in Substance Treatment Services) grant. Employees must be >0.6 FTE to be eligible. 50% of the bonus will be received 90 days after signing the program contract.
- Registered Nurses (RNs) may earn up to $7,500 by December 2024
- Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024
- Care Navigators may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024
Job Summary
Under minimal supervision is responsible for administration, leadership, and oversight of the Department of Behavioral Health Social Work Services to include: Mobile Crisis Services, Behavioral Health Services Inpatient Units, Psychiatric Emergency Services and other community based workgroups as assigned. Participates actively in relevant Department of BHS work groups and meetings. Collaborates with Department of BHS leadership to coordinate effective social work service delivery. Responsible for the completion of hiring, training, onboarding and supervision of all assigned positions either directly or indirectly. Responsible for assigned contracts and budgets.
Essential Functions:
- Provides BHS social worker administrative support, leadership, and expertise in developing, implementing and interpreting policies, procedures and programs within the Department of Behavioral Health and for assigned workgroups. (10%)
- Routinely communicates with BHS leadership regarding staff, service activities, and problems needing departmental attention. (10%)
- Manages partnerships with internal and external entities (MHCD, City of Denver, OBHS) related to assigned social work teams. Attends departmental, interdepartmental and external / community meetings as required and as appropriate. Delegates authority as appropriate. (10%)
- Maintains budget oversight and fiscal sustainability through appropriate resource allocation within the parameters of assigned contracts, grants or operational budgets. Ongoing review of budgets with appropriate course corrections. Payroll and or time and effort reporting. Reporting as required by the contract, grant or department. (10%)
- Recruits, selects, and hires assigned social work positions. Oversees direct or indirect clinical supervision of assigned team members. Oversees onboarding, training and continuing education of team members assigned. (10%)
- Plans, schedules, coordinates and assigns work to assure service provision, including coverage. Monitors caseloads and recommend adjustments, as needed. Assures departmental standards for productivity are met. (5%)
- Coordinates, evaluates, and verifies subordinate employees work product and professional behavior, providing recognition, coaching, or correction as applicable. Assures completion of semi-annual and or annual performance evaluations as per policy. Provides employment and clinical supervision, directly or indirectly to subordinate employees. (5%)
- Provides care to individuals and families within scope of practice for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. (5%)
- Promotes positive interpersonal (customer) relationships with fellow employees, physicians, patients and visitors. Treats these individuals with courtesy, dignity, empathy and respect; consistently displays courteous and respectful verbal and non-verbal communications. (5%)
- Adheres to, complies with and demonstrates support for the mission and values of Denver Health. Supports and adheres to the Denver Health Dozen. (5%)
- Sets clear expectations for staff by developing job specific customer service expectations and behaviors for each position supervised; clearly communicates expectations to each employee and establishes the expectations as job requirements and performance appraisal components; delegates responsibility/authority whenever possible. . (5%)
- Identifies training and staff development needs of employees and ensures appropriate training provided. (5%)
- Initiates formal/informal activities with employees to develop departmental cohesion and collegiality. (5%)
- Recognizes positive behavior and contributions to the organization using praise, appreciation and rewards. (5%)
- Actively identifies problems and opportunities for improvement; identifies appropriate solution and involves others in the implementation process. (5%)
Education:
Work Experience:
- 4-6 years post master’s degree in direct clinical care in an organized setting preferred. and
- 1-3 years in a management or supervisory role responsible for personnel, budget, programs and employee management preferred.
Licenses:
- LCSW-Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW State Licensing Board Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles of Clinical Social Work and the population served.
- Knowledge of leadership and supervisory principles, and skilled in applying knowledge independently in daily work.
- Knowledge of the applicable regulatory statutes and requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to participate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with software applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency in operating Electronic Medical Records, including EPIC preferred.
