Self-Help Enterprises has an immediate opening for a Loan Processor in our Mutual Self-Help Housing Program.
As a Loan Processor, you will work directly with the communities where we build to recruit families into the program and guide them through the application process, including determining program eligibility, processing and packaging loans, and closing loans. You should have strong communication skills and attention to detail. You should also have a strong understanding of RESPA disclosures and regulations, be a notary, or have the ability to obtain a notary license and conduct group presentations. As a Loan Processor with Self-Help Enterprises, you will have the opportunity to be the first contact with hard-working Valley families on the path to homeownership.
Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is required.
Responsibilities
- Recruit participants, including outreach activities such as press releases and public service announcements.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with participants throughout the process and offer counseling in budgeting and home maintenance
- Interview and elicit factual information from participants in various settings effectively.
- Gather, record, and evaluate data to determine eligibility for multiple grant and loan programs.
- Interpret and apply eligibility regulations and guidelines correctly.
- Counsel participants to ensure understanding of the program.
- Act as the primary liaison for participants by communicating effectively with representatives of public and private entities, lending institutions, and agency staff.
- Coordinate activities with other staff and maintain effective working relationships.
- Maintain accurate and detailed files and records.
- Prepare monthly activities and progress reports.
- Process loan and grant applications for financing.
- Identify the most appropriate financing package for participants.
- Promote the availability of programs to potential applicants.
- Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor.
