Our Mortgage Closing Team is looking for a Loan Closer II/III. The position's responsibilities will include a combination of closing, disbursement, shipping and funding duties.
Salary: $20 or $27.50/hourly minimum. Job/salary off would be commensurate with experience.

GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY
Closes complex bank held mortgage loans while maintaining a high volume of loan files by preparing and obtaining necessary loan documentation by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determines and prepares necessary documents for and ensures loan file compliance with applicable loan program in accordance with sales contract, loan officer write up, underwriting loan conditions, and federal, bank, and investor guidelines and regulations. Resolves discrepancies or makes recommendations to supervisor.
  • Receives Preliminary Title Report and works with title company to ensure the bank is in first lien position.
  • Prepares instruction worksheet for accurate disbursement of bank held loan funds.
  • Calculates interest rate percentages and discusses consequences of rate locks with borrowers.
  • Discusses outstanding documents and paperwork and coordinates loan closing date with title company, buyer, seller, and/or agents. Prepares and submits upon supervisor approval preliminary settlement statement for more complex bank held loans to title company.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
LC II - Minimum Three years mortgage lending or related experience and familiarity with federal and investor regulations; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
Preferred: Experience in the banking industry.

LC III - Minimum: Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field and two years mortgage loan closing related experience; or four years mortgage loan closing related experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Familiarity with federal, investor, and bank regulations.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field and three years mortgage loan closing related experience; or five years mortgage loan closing related experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Working knowledge of federal, investor, and bank regulations.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to keyboard 35 wpm and operate a 10-key calculator required. Word processing, spreadsheet, and loan documentation software experience required; strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customer verbally, via e-mail and business correspondence required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as mortgage documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
