Light Maintenance/Housekeeping

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented candidate for our Light Maintenance and Housekeeping position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing light maintenance duties and also maintaining cleanliness throughout a college setting. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning, organization, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Duties

Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
Maintain cleanliness in common areas, restrooms, classrooms, labs, kitchens, etc.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep such as changing light bulbs, electrical outlet repairs, toilet & faucet repairs, etc.
Utilize mechanical knowledge to operate cleaning equipment effectively.
Fabricate solutions for minor repairs when necessary.
Conduct painting and touch-ups as required.
Maintain landscaping, snow blowing, salting icy surfaces, and shoveling.
Work with logic controllers for automated cleaning systems when applicable.
Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules and tasks completed using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

Requirements

Proficiency in English for effective communication with team members and clients.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred for handling equipment and performing minor repairs.
Experience in electrical work or facilities maintenance is a plus.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
