Manager, Crisis Residential STARLight Center


Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrate the values and guiding principles of Our Promise each and every day, performing with the highest standards of excellence, integrity and ethics.
  • Supervise the Residential employees and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Residential Program; Assist in the care and environmental services of the residential setting.
  • Assure fiscal accountability and effective operations of the residential program. Exhibit and demand care and competence in managing agency resources.
  • Create a welcoming and calming atmosphere, and exhibit excellent role model skills to effectively resolve conflict; Utilize empathic and active listening skills to provide emotional support to residents.
  • Maintain appropriate professional and personal boundaries with staff and clients.
  • Transport or coordinate transportation of clients when needed to appointments or treatment meetings using personal vehicle.
  • Observe all rules of confidentiality as they relate to client information both internally and in dealing with outside individuals and/or agencies.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource on topics such as client rights and the procedures governing them.
  • Coordinate, make referrals, or arrange for appropriate community resources when needed, act as an advocate if necessary; Maintain ongoing contacts (phone, meetings, conferences) with other professionals involved as needed, including collateral contacts with community resources/services.
  • Resolve operational problems and conflicts by addressing any ongoing behaviors; creates feedback loop to ensure any identified issues are resolved in a timely manner to maintain high productivity and morale.
  • Support department leadership team by gathering data, researches, analyzes, and evaluates existing clinical operations, systems, policies, and procedures to identify areas for improvement; research current best practices, industry standards, and state and federal rules and regulations; develops new operations, policies, and procedures to improve processes.
  • Attend all court hearings as required or requested by the courts.
  • Complete record keeping and copying of necessary information, dissemination to appropriate individuals within the agency and any outside agencies based on departmental requirements.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to develop, implement, and maintain effective strategies for the recruitment and retention of a culturally diverse team; lead team members using a performance support process that includes goal setting, routine feedback, and ongoing development.
  • Create and sustain an organizational culture that fosters inclusiveness and equity.
  • Exhibits positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
  • Demonstrates positive leadership, promote an inclusive work environment and present the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health field or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in mental health crisis experience preferred
  • 2+ years experience in supervisory/leadership role preferred

  • Ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and good professional judgment
  • Flexible; able to work days, evenings, and/or weekends, as desired to meet the needs of clients
  • Strong organizational skills; able to handle multiple priorities with strict attention to detail and perform work independently.
  • Ability to maintain relevant, timely documentation as required.
  • Effective computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records, etc.
  • Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
  • Successfully meet pre-employment drug screen, physical exam and tuberculosis test requirements.
  • Successfully meet all pre-employment background requirements.
