We are looking for a Program Director for our Day Habilitation Program in Opelika, AL. Responsibilities include: Supervises and manages the overall operation of the program. Supervises staff. Plans and coordinated program activities as well as schedules. Coordinates services provided to individuals as appropriate. Ensures the implementation of and compliance with policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with State and Federal standards and applicable laws. Regular attendance; ability to work cooperatively with others and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in and in a safe manner. Must be available after hours, weekends and holidays when assistance is needed. Coordinates the learning experiences of consumers. Ensures that the physical needs of consumers are met, including clothing, grooming, nutritional, and medical needs. Responsible for providing a; suitable and comfortable environment ·for consumer living. Ensures regular contact with family members ·and/or significant others. Makes appointments on behalf of consumers as appropriate. May prepare meals. Responsible for ensuring compliance with dietician approved menus (and substitutions are approved by dietician). Ensures compliance with special diets. Ensures maintenance of a day log, reviewing it on a regular basis. Oversees consumer spending money and monitors consumer accounts. Requests consumer funds to to make purchases for the consumer (including clothing, personal hygiene items, etc..) and allows consumer to accompany staff, as appropriate. Ensures that individual consumer interests and differences are encouraged within the structure of the residential program. Other Duties: Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. May be responsible for basic clerical tasks, including data entry. Reports safety hazards immediately and initiates corrective action as appropriate. Reports to work as scheduled and in a timely manner and attends meetings. Serves on Center teams, committees, councils, and/or workgroups as assigned. May be required to work a variable schedule, including evening, night and weekend hours. Works cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors. Is a "team" player and maintains a positive attitude. Maintains an appropriate appearance. Meets or exceeds productivity requirements as assigned. Maintains behavior consistent with ethical and professional guidelines. Is motivational and enthusiastic, offers appropriate suggestions and initiates ideas to improve Center services. May present educational programs to civic and educational groups regarding program services. Acts as a positive role model for staff supervised. Experience Preferred: Experience working with individuals exhibiting extremely challenging behaviors (includes but is not limited to physical aggression, property destruction, etc.). Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services Field, required Program requires PCM Level 2 certification.
