Purpose and Scope:
Responsible for directing a staff and the efficient and effective operation of Information Technology.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides leadership and team supervision for assigned projects.
- Supervisory duties include assigning and reviewing work, training and recommending discipline as appropriate.
- Develops processes for coordinating and integrating all projects requiring Information Technology support.
- Estimates time, cost and personnel requirements to complete projects.
- Confers with IT managers and consultants for project specifications.
- Researches and analyzes project plans to verify project scope.
- Coordinates work across multiple departments, offices and job classifications to maintain completion schedules.
- Manages project budgets by monitoring expenses; prepares related reports as required.
- Monitors project status throughout the implementation process; prepares monthly status reports to keep supervisor and departments informed of project progress.
- Ensures all projects meet contractual requirements and are completed on time and within budget.
- Identifies potential risks and delays in implementation, and documents recommended solutions.
- Performs all work in accordance with established policies and procedures, regulations and codes, and standards of quality and safety.
- Negotiates and coordinate contracts with appropriate vendors and service providers; serves as liaison with vendors/service providers as required.
- Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies of potential benefit to District operations and programs; may assist in selecting new systems and equipment.
- Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints in areas of responsibility.
- Enters and retrieves computer data, proofreads data entries for accuracy and completeness; assists in analyzing data; downloads data for, generates and disseminates computer reports as requested.
- Performs other general office/administrative work as required, including preparing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, receiving and responding to faxes and emails, attending and conducting meetings, ordering supplies and materials.
- Develops, monitors, and maintains back office infrastructure to support day to day operations.
- Researches and analyzes new and current year technology.
- Attends training, seminars and meeting as necessary to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in relevant area, or equivalent plus an additional 5 years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of 9 years. Specialized Licenses or Certification.
Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
