Industrial Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Industrial Maintenance Manager with a strong background in CNC routing, specifically plywood, (Heian and Northwood experience a major plus) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all production equipment, with a particular focus on CNC 2-4 spindle wood cutting routers as well as dust system/bag houses. This role requires hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage a team to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency in our production processes. We are NOT a CNC machining house nor are looking for a CNC machinist for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team and across the production floor.
Lead Maintenance Operations: Oversee and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all production equipment, including CNC routers, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Team Management: Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure they are effectively maintaining and repairing machinery.
Preventative Maintenance: Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all equipment, with a focus on CNC router, to prevent unexpected breakdowns and extend equipment life.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues with CNC routers and other production equipment, ensuring timely and effective repairs. Ensuring an accurate and adequate spare parts inventory.
Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and suppliers for equipment parts, service contracts, and technical support as needed.
Budget Management: Manage the maintenance department's budget, including parts, labor, and equipment costs. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising equipment reliability or safety.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance equipment efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase production output.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and maintenance logs. Provide regular reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and key performance metrics.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Extensive hands-on experience with CNC routers is required.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems as they pertain to CNC routers and other industrial equipment.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop a maintenance team, with strong communication and organizational skills.
Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex machinery issues quickly and effectively.
Education: A degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred but not required if compensated by extensive experience.
Safety-Oriented: Thorough understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations.
Availability: Must be available to respond to emergency maintenance needs outside of regular working hours, including nights and weekends.
