POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Administrator
REPORTS TO: Human Resources Director

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

HOURS: Monday-Friday | 9-5 |
Some overtime expected during peak hiring season

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The administrator is responsible for helping to oversee recruiting, screening and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external). The administrator position is responsible for helping to monitor scheduling and time cards to ensure proper labor management. This position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with Regional Hiring Managers to screen and interview candidates; conducts background checks; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations alongside management; conducts exit interviews.
  • Analyze scheduling and timecard data to ensure effective labor management at multiple facilities.
  • Develops and processes job requisitions.
  • Extends verbal and written contingent job offers.
  • Follows up with the related clerical aspects of employment, such as completing of health, employment, federal, tax and insurance forms, notifying the department of employee's starting date and signed company policies.
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Develops advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
  • Manages internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
  • Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assists with any payroll functions as needed.
  • Manage and develop social media strategies, employee functions and contests focused on improving retention rates.
  • Maintain current lifeguard certification to allow for assistance with seasonal demands of other departments.
  • Assist in developing, tracking and implementing employee bonus programs.
  • Assist in developing employee PIP programs, as well as follow up as necessary.
  • Assist in conducting background checks for all employees
  • Assists with conducting drug test, if needed with reasonable suspicion
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least two years of previous experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in Aquatics.
  • Ability to obtain Lifeguard certification within first 4 months of employment
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Google Sheets

  • Positions in this class typically require: walking, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Medium Work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
