Heavy Civil Highway Construction Superintendent

We are seeking a highly experienced Heavy Civil Highway Construction Superintendent to join our team in Kalispell, MT. This superintendent will be responsible for overseeing large-scale projects within heavy civil construction for municipal, state, and federal sectors. Their role will involve working closely with the project manager to direct daily field operations, manage on-site personnel and subcontractors, meet project deadlines and budgets, and ensure project success.

This position is based out of Kalispell, MT and would require travel for projects awarded outside the Flathead County.

Key Functions

Work with Project Manager and Foreman to plan and organize activities relating to roadway and site construction projects.
Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines through participation with Project Manager.
Monitor project with Project Manager to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
Assist in the implementation of quality control programs and safety.
Properly notify clients of delays due to weather, changes, etc.
Communicate with supervisory personnel to ensure all matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems are resolved with owners, sub-contractors, vendors, and design professionals.
Evaluate weekly construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness and discuss any concerns with Project Manager.
Assures compliance with Company Safety policies and OSHA, and MSHA regulations.
Coordinates and delegates implementation of traffic control plans, equipment mobilization, safety plans, and other duties required.
Supports safety, loss prevention, EEO, risk management, training, and quality control programs.
Ensures jobsites and company assets are safely maintained and secure.

Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years of experience as a construction superintendent required.
Knowledge of heavy equipment operations and road construction means and methods.

OSHA competent person training preferred .
