POSITION SUMMARY
This position is an integral member of the Health Department Total Quality Team. The position will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining health-department wide compliance. Incumbent will be responsible for the ongoing enhancement, implementation and monitoring of a continuous system for meeting and maintaining accreditation-required policies, standards and benchmarks. This position will coordinate policy reviews and ensure that all departmental policies are reviewed and updated annually. Furthermore, this position will collaborate with all non-medical Program Director(s) to ensure compliance processes meet professional, accreditation, licensing and operational standards, with the goal of enhancing service delivery and minimize risk. Additionally, serves as the Civil Rights/504 Coordinator and the Limited English Proficiency Coordinator.


POSITION SPECIFIC INFORMATION

This position is a partner within the Total Quality (TQ) team working in collaboration with the Quality Improvement Coordinator in guiding continuous total quality management health wide as well as the Practice & Standards Coordinator in guiding Quality Assurance practice and Standards system wide. Position is supported by Senior Quality & Training Specialists. Position reports to the Senior TQ Health Manager.


Essential Functions:

Design, implement and maintain a continuous system for meeting and maintaining accreditation-required policies, standards and benchmarks.
Coordinate policy reviews and ensure that all departmental policies are reviewed and updated annually
Collaborate with all non-medical Program Director(s) to ensure audit processes meet professional, accreditation, licensing and operational standards, with the goal of enhancing service delivery and minimize risk.
Serve as LEP (Limited English Proficiency) Coordinator
Knowledge of rules and regulations that govern Public Health programs
Serve as back-up Complaint Coordinator(s) for department
Participates in MCPH response activities as needed.
Always conducts business in an ethical manner while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Strategic thinking and planning abilities; ability to anticipate/recognize/investigate/analyze changing external factors; plan and react accordingly.
Experience working with internal and external customers and creating and presenting strategic initiatives, business plans, performance data and informational updates to diverse audiences
Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
Experience with data analysis and visualization
Experience in developing and providing training to adult learners
Experience with navigating electronic health records and other data management systems including use of respective reporting features


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Minimum of four years of public health, healthcare and/or related experience


Education:
Bachelor’s degree in public health or a field related to the program area, such as Nutrition, Public Administration, Social Work, Emergency Preparedness, Health Administration, or a related field.
Equivalent Experience for Education Accepted? Yes


Licenses and Certifications:
Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s license.
Ability to obtain and maintain a County Operator’s Permit.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Public Health, Risk Management, and or Compliance experience in healthcare setting.
Masters’ degree preferred.
Nursing experience is a plus.
Prior public health experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
  • Principles and practices of public health
  • Organizational Development/Project Management/ Policy development experience

  • Using a computer and applicable software applications;
