PURPOSE
Responsible for providing appropriate and timely care to sick and/or injured students; creating, updating, and managing immunization records and related student records; contacting parents as needed; administering and documenting medications provided to students; maintaining clinic inventory; monitor and support implementation of Health Care Action Plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Create immunization records in the District’s student information database and? update and follow-up with non-compliant students.
- Provide appropriate and timely care to sick and/or injured students.
- Monitor and support implementation of Health Care Action Plans.
- Document on the clinic register all students who visit and leave the clinic.
- Contact parents/emergency contacts as needed to arrange for student pick-up if necessary.
- Administer and document medications to students.
- Input data into the District’s student information database regarding students who leave the school sick.
- Compile and update medications consent forms and send to area nurse.
- Maintain adequate supplies in clinic; order supplies as needed.
- Count controlled medications.
- Produce mailing to parents of students not in compliance with immunizations.
- Coordinate and schedule immunization clinics.
- Verify that each student in school has emergency card and media release card.
OTHER DUTIES
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent.
CERTIFICATIONS
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required.
- Medication and universal precautions training/certifications required.
- May need to complete coursework or pass appropriate test to comply with NCLB standards as a requirement for continued employment.
EXPERIENCE
No experience required; experience in CPR/First Aid and working with students preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Oral and written communication skills; English language skills.
- Interpersonal relations skills; Customer service and public relations skills.
- Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations.
- Personal computer and keyboarding skills; advanced computer hardware and software skills; operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and Google.
- Operating knowledge of and experience with general office equipment, including telephones, copier, fax machine, etc.; Knowledge of operating, installing, supporting and maintaining PCs and associated application software preferred at hire.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Bilingual oral and written communication skills preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; Ability to managemultiple priorities.

This is a 4 hour/day position - 10am - 2pm daily ONE-YEAR ONLY
180 day calendar
Salary Grade 4 starting at $18.41
