SUMMARY: Coordinates, evaluates, and estimates activities of crop harvest achieving the most efficient cost of production while meeting the maximum yield and quality goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Evaluates crop and estimates harvest time depending on each season.
Assess and schedule harvest picks to achieve the most efficient cost of production while meeting the maximum yield and quality goals.
Builds and maintains strong relations with growers, labor contractors, harvest crews, and trucking companies.
Effectively and promptly communicates harvest picks, picking volumes, and timing of shipments with field manager as needed.
Coordinates harvest schedules/picks with all growers and maintains accurate harvest/pick records and delivers to management in a timely manner.
Travels to all regions assigned and assess harvest and schedule picks accordingly.
Discuss seasonal crop-growing activities with management to determine sequence of operations in a timely manner.
Communicates and coordinates with contractors to ensure harvest crews are available to harvest fruit.
Seeks, learns, and utilizes new technology and processes to maximize efficiencies & fruit utilization.
Valid California driver’s license with good driving record.
Fosters a safe and healthy work environment and provides a high level of safety awareness through continual safe work practices.
Conducts operations in a manner which promotes work safety and complies with Cal/OSHA standards, to include wearing all PPE.
Works assigned shift as needed to meet business needs to include availability outside of core service hours “on call” to deliver business-critical services.
Support the implementation and monitoring of food safety, food quality standards, and regulations and laws.
Demonstrates supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Keep S work environment clean, positive, and free of harassment.
Demonstrate reliable/consistent attendance and punctuality and a positive attitude.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Three - Five or more years of related experience in a similar industry. High school diploma or equivalent required. KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS FOR THE FIELD SUPERVISOR: Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of practical field management processes related to organizational needs and purpose. Ability to plan and direct large-scale harvest activities, manage, coordinates and communicate daily with harvest crews. Farming/Agricultural background a plus. Good analytical aptitude, reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. Basic knowledge in operating standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computers/software, office telephone, cell phone, calculators, and copiers. Bilingual Spanish fluency a plus—not required. Demonstrated ability to develop cross-functional relationships, manage projects, and effective problem solving. Excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written). Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet constant deadlines with strong attention to detail and quality control. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to delivering superior results. Ability to work in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability is expected. Operational knowledge of food safety standards, regulations and safety compliance--Cal OSHA/OSHA. Excellent customer service focus and results oriented. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing. Conversational Spanish is highly desired but not required. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
