Job Title: Front Desk Bell-Person/ Shuttle Driver (Full-Time) FLSA Classification: Nonexempt (Hourly) Salary Range: $15.69 - $16.00, per hour Reports to: Director of Rooms
Summary/objective: The bell-person/shuttle driver is primarily responsible for welcoming all guests to the hotel as well as bidding them farewell. The bell person is escorting guests to and from their accommodations, orienting them with the features of the property and their accommodations, assisting the guest in any way to make them feel more comfortable in accordance with the Saybrook Point Resort & Marina mission, vision, and values. The bell person may also be responsible for parking guest vehicles in a safe manner. Conducting the Bell service activities such as luggage service upon guests arrival and departure, luggage storage, message service, fax delivery, parcel and mail hand-over, information service and other related tasks.
Opening the door of the car for the guest in a professional manner at the main entrance of the hotel and assisting to unload the luggage if any.
Extend warm welcome and appreciation to every guest/patron and any customer approaching.
Valeting of guest vehicles.
Primarily tasked in providing the hotel guests/patrons the efficient Bell service, to ensure the luggage being delivered collected, stored accurately and promptly all the time.
Opening the entry doors for guests as they arrive and depart the property.
Assisting to arrange the transportation for guest.
In charge of the lobby lighting on & off periodically.
Maintaining the fireplace.
Distributing the newspaper to long staying guest and departments concerned.
Maintain front entry to ensure area is free of dirt and debris.
During winter months, salt as needed and assist with shoveling.
Transport guests to any destination in accordance with hotel policies and rules.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline, oil, air and water.
Notifies manager of any vehicle problems.
Log all trips.
Must notify manager of any accidents and damages to hotel vehicles.
Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Fully aware of and comply with Inns policies and procedures as identified in the procedure manual and handbook.
Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Work environment
Working conditions are based in a hospitality setting.
Associates may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
Noise level in work environment is usually moderate.
Exposure to cleaning solvents and chemicals.
Physical demands
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the entire property, including walking up to 1 mile, climbing stairs and standing at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Required education and experience
Education & Experience: High School diploma, general education degree or international equivalent required.
Must have Valid Drivers License and be at least 21 years of age
Preferred education and experience
Previous guest service, front door or bell service experience in a luxury property preferred
Previous customer service experience preferred.

Maintains all current licenses and certifications
Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
Maintains high standards for work area and appearance and presents self in highly professional manner to staff and guest.
Available days, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
