Fiberglass Technician, Painter, General Marine Technician (Experience Required)
Kilker Boatworks is hiring for multiple positions including Fiberglass, Painter, and Boat yard technician. Please only apply if you have experience in the field you are applying for. Fiberglass Technician - Responsibilities include the following but is not limited to:
To perform structural and cosmetic repairs independently.
Deep understanding in resin product knowledge and supporting additives.
Gelcoat color matching and resin promoting.
In depth knowledge of proper coring for builds/repairs associated to specific outcome.
Ability to perform mold lay ups and finalizing parts to finished product.
Detailing services including cosmetic repairs, restoration, and final protective coatings.
Painter Technician – Responsibilities include the following but is not limited to: · The ability to define scope of labor and material needed to set and budget scope of work on requested project. · Strong understanding of time management and ability to translate to supporting staff while supervising paint projects. · Strong Product knowledge on marine and aviation grade paints and primers · The ability to perform spot repairs in addition to full paint jobs. This company performs paint shoots the exceed more than five to six thousand square feet in a single shoot. Must be able to shoot paint in durations exceeding 6-8 hours in a single while operating from scissor lifts and/or articulating lift. · The ability to fully mask and protect vessels for paint shots that overlap in sections. · Detailing services including cosmetic repairs, restoration, and final protective coatings. · Maintain shop paint, equipment, and supporting inventory. · Must supply own paint guns for routine paint job, but also be responsible for thoroughly cleaning and servicing the specialty equipment provided by company for specialty jobs. Boat Yard Technician – Responsibilities include the following but is not limited to: · Perform routine service on vessel maintenance and repair · Has had experience with running gear, thru hulls, and basic vessel systems. · Must be flexible to assist others in repairs of all vessel specialties that the company elects to work on · Assist in shop cleaning and maintenance. We are currently seeking employees with the following traits and work ethics:
Ability to work 40-hour work weeks and be on time daily.
Mechanical background preferred.
Ability to operate small to large equipment.
Good communication skills and the ability to put it into action.
Being detail oriented and the performing of organizational skills are essential.
Ability to work in a yacht quality environment without causing damages.
The ability of working independently without constant supervision
Knowledge of marine products, resins, and associated hardware.
