Summary:
PRN — Variable, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. — On-site
Supports the functions of the Winnie M. Lowe Family Resource Center, including the Medical Library, Safety Zone and Family Library. Assists with the library lending, cataloging, book and journal processing, copying articles and simple computer trouble shooting. Work collaboratively with patients, families and staff members to deliver services and resources. Areas of focus will be library services, patient and family centered care initiatives and injury prevention efforts within the Resource Center.

Description
1. Keeps accurate circulation records in online circulation management system and manually where needed. Prepares new books for cataloging and circulation with title page copies property labels, taping & call numbers. Shelves books and journals. Shifts books and journals on shelves as required. Processes or discards donations as needed.
2. Maintains online catalog's accuracy by checking shelves for books and submitting catalog changes. Checks in journals and maintains accurate records of volume, issue and date per copy.
3. Copies articles for staff and process interlibrary loan requests. Sends articles by email for patient care.
4. Orders supplies and places book orders as requested by Librarian. Completes orders for safety products to maintain Safety Zone inventory.
5. Manages Family Resource Center Conference Room reservations. Assists with facilitating events in the Family Resource Center as needed.
6. Registers staff and family members for library services in circulation system.
7. Provides directional assistance, locate electronic resources in both the UAMS Library and AC Library online collections. Provides consumer health information from the Family Resource Library and MEDLINE-PLUS online. Locates print resources in AC Medical Library collection. Answers the telephone and provides appropriate information or pass calls to the Librarian as needed.
8. Completes Injury Prevention Assessments with patients and families. Provides injury prevention education and safety products based on completed assessments. Updates databases for inventory and families served after assessment completion.
9. Assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
