Capital Tower & Communications, Inc. based in Waverly Nebraska has been providing nationwide telecommunication site services since 1992. We are seeking those interested in learning a new career as a telecommunications tower technician at an established industry leader. Traveling Telecommunications Tower Site Technician Overview: As a Traveling Telecommunications Tower Site Technician, you will be working in a team environment assisting with structural projects, which may include building a new site or implementing new technology in this rapidly growing and developing field. You are on the front line, playing an important role in keeping people connected and updated. You will be working around the country for six weeks at a time, then have the option of the company paying for an airline ticket home or to somewhere else, for a 7-10-day break. You will be gaining knowledge in effectively building the backbone of the nation’s wireless communication systems, while following all safety protocols and precautions set forth by Federal, State and company policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
Follow all safety rules and regulations
Install/replace/repair antenna system equipment
Distribute/pick-up/organize tools and materials
Install/modify/mount & platform
Identify/fix problems using test equipment
Work with a team
Perform tower structure inspection
Climbing and working on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment performs tower maintenance under close supervision.
The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
Distribute, pick up and organize tools and materials.
Ability to read site plans and tower drawings.
The ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with 50 lb. load.
Qualifications
Previous experience in construction or mechanical work.
Willingness to travel nationwide for up to 6 weeks at a time, followed by 7-10 days off.
Ability to work at heights in all weather conditions.
Valid Driver's License.
Proficiency in using required power tools and equipment.
Ability to obtain certifications such as CPR/First Aid AED, OSHA 10, RF Radiation Safety & Awareness, and Authorized Climber/Rescue.
Pass pre-employment tests, including drug test, background check, physical examination, DMV screening and certification training.
You are physically able to climb to heights in excess of 300 feet daily
You can work in all weather conditions year-round
You have some construction and/or electrical experience
You enjoy working with your hands
You enjoy constant travel and willing to live life on the road
Compensations
Starting Base Pay (Based on Experience): $19.00-$25.00
$2000 Sign on Bonus! Paid after 6 Months of continuous employment.
Employee Progress Reviews at 45 Days, 90 Days, 180 Days and 365 Days. Annually thereafter. Each with a potential for a RAISE based on performance.
Per Diem is paid out weekly starting at $100/day.
Generous end of the year bonuses.
Paid Travel to and from regular rotation breaks.
