Energy Project Manager We are seeking a dynamic Energy Project Manager to support our business development and project management efforts. Our energy services include Energy Management, Decarbonization, Fossil Fuels, and Renewable Energy. Position Summary:
The Energy Project Manager will oversee the successful delivery of assigned projects, ensuring that objectives related to scope, schedule, and budget are achieved. This role involves technical expertise, business development, project management, and team leadership.
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program or equivalent training/experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy field or on energy-related projects.
Preferred Experience:
Hands-on experience with energy-related design and fieldwork.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Familiarity with local clients (county/state level) and national energy clients/ESCOs.
Proven success in business development and project management.
Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Technical & Sales Leadership:
Drive business development efforts with a focus on energy market growth.
Document and manage sales activities within the client management system.
Develop expertise across multiple functional areas and specialization in one or more energy market sectors.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members while fostering subject matter expertise within the team.
Stay current on industry practices, principles, and trends, ensuring the team is well-equipped to deliver innovative solutions.
2. Project/Program Management:
Establish and manage client relationships and project plans aligned with company goals.
Assemble and lead multidisciplinary project teams to ensure efficiency and profitability.
Organize and lead client meetings, work sessions, public hearings, and trade show engagements.
Manage project billing processes and collections with accounting staff support.
Oversee contract changes, addenda, and project documentation.
Collaborate with internal teams across practices and markets to deliver seamless client services.
3. Staff Management:
Supervise, mentor, and develop team members to meet performance standards.
Anticipate team skill and resource needs, ensuring appropriate project staffing.
Set and enforce team performance goals aligned with company objectives.
Foster accountability by holding team members to their success plans and performance goals.
