Dog Bather

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Bather to join our team during the week, M-F.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of pet grooming practices. As a Dog Bather, you will be responsible for providing high-quality bathing and basic grooming services to pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the process.
Duties

Bathe dogs and other pets using appropriate shampoos and conditioners based on their specific needs.
Dry pets thoroughly using towels or dryers, ensuring they are comfortable throughout the process.
Brush and comb pets to remove tangles, mats, and loose fur.
Inspect pets for any skin issues, parasites, or abnormalities and report findings to the grooming team or management.
Maintain cleanliness in the bathing area, including washing towels, cleaning equipment, and sanitizing surfaces.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets’ needs and any observations made during grooming.
Assist with handling pets during bathing and grooming sessions to ensure safety for both the pet and staff.
Support other team members in various tasks as needed, including kennel duties or assisting with animal handling.

Skills

Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure the safety of both pets and staff.
Experience in pet grooming is highly desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided.
Strong knowledge of dog training methods is a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or equipment.
Familiarity with animal care practices, including basic health checks for common issues.
Experience working in a kennel or veterinary assistant role is beneficial.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
A compassionate attitude towards animals, demonstrating patience and understanding during grooming sessions.
