Responsibilities:
- Bathing, drying, brushing and combing pets.
- Perform nail trims, ear cleaning/plucking, and anal gland expression(externally only)
-Assisting other staff members as needed
- Handle pets safely and with compassion during grooming procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area including but not limited to, laundry, mopping, sweeping, wiping down surfaces and keeping entire salon clean.
- Provide excellent customer service, including answering client questions and addressing concerns. Checking pets in and out and alerting owners when pets are ready to go home.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure the well-being of the pets in your care
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Pet Bather or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of basic animal care and grooming techniques preferred
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong customer service skills to interact with pet owners
- Physical ability to lift heavy dogs (up to 50 pounds) and stand for long periods of time
- Familiarity with various dog breeds and their grooming requirements is a plus
Skills:
-Willingness to learn
- Ability to handle heavy lifting
- Experience working in a grooming salon, boarding facility or veterinary environment is a plus!
- Proficiency in dog handling techniques
- Excellent customer service skills
-Strong stomach
- Knowledge of animal care best practices
- Understanding of pet care needs
- Ability to handle animals safely and confidently
