Director of Nursing

Overview
The Director of Nursing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong background in nursing administration and management, along with a deep understanding of medical records, care plans, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Director will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to promote best practices and enhance patient outcomes.
Duties

Lead and manage the nursing department, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
Oversee documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and quality standards.
Maintain accurate medical records while ensuring confidentiality and security of patient information.
Provide guidance on nursing systems and protocols to improve efficiency and effectiveness in patient care.
Conduct regular training sessions for nursing staff on anatomy, physiology, and best practices in home care.
Monitor performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement in nursing services.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional development and teamwork.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
Proven experience in nursing administration or nurse management within a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of medical records management, care plans, and documentation standards.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor nursing staff.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing documentation and care processes.
Effective communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of home care practices is a plus.
