DCAS is looking for an experienced, strategic programs manager with strong policy analysis skills to be the Deputy Chief of Staff. The Deputy Chief of Staff will work closely with the Chief of Staff and executive team to drive agency operational and policy priorities. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Work directly with the executive team to drive the overall strategic planning of the agency.
- Lead intra-divisional meetings and the implementation of policy objectives.
- Manage agency’s emergency management and continuity of operations efforts.
- Develop and implement protocols for briefing the Commissioner and executive team.
- Perform complex research and prepare detailed summaries, progress and tracking reports on various programs.
- Serve as a liaison to agency staff, other government entities and the general public and guide the Chief of Staff in decisions affecting major policy and procedural changes.
- Prepare detailed work plans for assigned projects including the methodology for needs assessments and allocation of resources.
- Perform various high level specialized managerial/executive functions at the Chief of Staff’s request.
