Deputy Attorney General I-V/Program Administrator - Consumer Mediation Unit

Introduction

Each of the more than 500 staff who work in the Office of the Attorney General are dedicated to serving all Delawareans with integrity and passion.
Deputy Attorneys General, with critical support from criminal special investigators, victim service specialists, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff, prosecute criminal cases, enforce consumer laws, provide counsel to state agencies, ensure the public's access to open government, protect the abused, and much more.
Summary Statement
The Delaware Department of Justice is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated individual to join the Consumer Mediation Unit within the Fraud & Consumer Protection Division in the New Castle County office as a Deputy Attorney General (DAG) and Program Administrator to manage and oversee Delaware’s Automatic Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program on behalf of the Superior Court. This Program provides homeowners facing foreclosure with an opportunity to meet and negotiate with their lenders before a foreclosure action can proceed through the Delaware courts. There are between 1,500 and 2,000 foreclosure conferences scheduled each year.

Because the Department of Justice operates the Automatic Residential Mortgage Mediation Program on behalf of the Superior Court, regular communication and cooperation with Superior Court staff is essential.

The DAG/Program Administrator supervises one legal administrative specialist, reports to the Unit Head of the Consumer Mediation Unit and may perform other duties as assigned.

**This position is based in the Brandywine Building at 1000 N. West St., Wilmington, DE 19801, and may offer the option to telework up to three days per week**

Pay Grade A18 DAG IV Salary Range $106,626/min $108,737/max
Pay Grade A20 DAG V Salary Range $118,238/min $122,920/max

Job Requirements
This is a challenging position with a high volume of matters and provides an opportunity to work with a variety of participants including consumers, litigants, housing counselors, counsel and the Superior Court. Strong organizational skills and expertise in E-filing with the Courts are required. Expertise in managing a program budget and expenses is preferred. Strong administrative computer skills including managing a database and CRM software are preferred. Supervisory experience with support staff is preferred.

Delaware Bar Admission or a willingness to sit for the next Delaware Bar Exam is required.
