As the Deputy Executive Director of The ND Industrial Commission, you will assist the Executive Director with a wide range of complex administrative and managerial responsibilities related to the operation of the Industrial Commission Administrative Office and oversight of its agencies and programs. These include Bank of North Dakota, North Dakota Mill and Elevator, Department of Mineral Resources, Housing Finance Agency, Public Finance Authority, Pipeline Authority, Transmission Authority, Building Authority, Student Loan Trust, five grant programs and the State Energy Research Center. The Deputy Executive Director
Supports the implementation of Industrial Commission directives related to energy and natural resources.
Manages all functions related to the Commissions grant programs, including executing contracts, overseeing contract compliance and fiscal management, and managing award funding. The Deputy also works in coordination with grant program advisory boards and councils to execute activities related to grant rounds for the Commission.
Supports the Executive Director in the production and execution of all Industrial Commission meetings. Works with Industrial Commission agencies to facilitate timely and effective review and ensures action on all presented topics.
Represents the Industrial Commission as requested by Executive Director to provide legislative testimony and other presentations related to energy, natural resources, and other topics as assigned. Responsible for other legislative duties such as bill tracking and assistance with the presentation of the Industrial Commission's budget.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting, financial management or related field and five years of professional level work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong executive management skills with executive-level composure and presence.
Fundamental knowledge of the state's budget process, legislative process, and government operations.
Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong business acumen and advanced ability to think strategically.
