JOB SUMMARY
The Customer Assistance Technician is responsible for providing day-to-day assistance as it relates to utility assistance programs. This position maintains accurate case management files, responding to agency written and verbal requests, ensuring the posting of agency pledges/payments, and other ad-hoc administrative tasks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Retrieve and process faxed/emailed/verbal agency pledges; accurately updating the Notes and Assistance/Contribution tabs.
- Collect daily from cashiering agencies' payments; ensuring timely CIS notation, balance reconciliation, scan, and return to the cashiering team.
- Serve as the primary contact, via phone/email, for partner agencies seeking information to complete assistance referrals.
- Produce weekly email communication with an update of partner agencies' funds and program availability.
- Prepare and distribute team meeting agendas and minutes in a timely manner.
- Ensure all intake information is in the file and accurately entered into any required system of record.
- Verify application documentation and submit executed payment request package for final approval
- Brainstorm and suggest fundraisers, within City guidelines, to increase the Utility Assistance Programs donor pool.
- Participate in assistance related training and outreach to increase knowledge, program awareness, and community engagement.
- Perform other general administrative support functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) years' experience or competency commonly associated with general intake in the field of Human Services/Social work or experience in a related field.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in an environment maintaining strict confidentiality and professional boundaries with households served and co-workers.
- Experience working with DSS energy assistance, Section 8, WAP, and or HARRP programs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and occasional cold or inclement weather. The work may require the use of protective devices, such as masks, goggles, or gloves.
