Siuslaw Outreach Services Job Description CRISIS ASSISTANCE ADVOCATE GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Crisis Assistance Program Manager with delivery of housing assistance programs as well as all Lane County Basic Needs and Self Sufficiency Programs, Low-income-home- energy-assistance seasonal program, Crisis Assistance Advocate will maintain records and files as well as provide case manage for clients in housing assistance programs. Crisis Assistance Advocate must abide by program regulations. QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work with diverse populations, skills in dealing with low or no income individuals, and those experiencing homelessness. High school diploma or GED plus 2 years experience in social service or related field required. Experience or knowledge in working with budgets, reports, data bases, MS Office, Excel and computer operation. Valid ODL, insurable by SOS insurance carrier, pass Criminal History check and drug screen. HOURS/CLASSIFICATION: 1 FTE supervised by Crisis Assistance Program Manager. Flexible hours apply COMPENSATION: Starting rate: $17.50-$19.00 per hr DOE, and year end bonus pay. 2 week paid vacation, holiday pay. Eligible for other benefits after one year of employment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Become knowledgeable regarding each of the funded programs, rules and regulations, reporting requirements, eligibility requirements, budgets and budget reports.
Maintain systems for monitoring clients and program expenditures.
Maintain client file and data base systems.
Conduct assessments of potential clients for the programs.
Complete intakes for clients of the programs.
Support the work of the Housing/Utility Assistance Program Manager to determine services to be provided for each client, develop written case management plans.
Provide case management, follow up, ongoing meetings with assigned housing clients. Assist clients in developing goals and self sufficiency plans.
Make referrals, as appropriate, for services to clients.
Network with other local and non-local agencies which provide services useful to clients.
Meet regularly with supervisor.
Maintain accurate case records for all clients.
Observe all confidentiality requirements.
Attend trainings, as appropriate.
Serve as domestic violence advocate on occasion, as appropriate.
Perform related duties, as assigned by supervisor.
