Position Summary
The University of New Mexico Information Technologies EMSS (Enterprise Managed Systems and Services) team is seeking a Core IT Services Specialist. Candidate will help maintain and expand a robust systems framework that supports current and future on-prem and cloud services in a large and complex academic enterprise. The successful applicant will have expertise in Microsoft, Sailpoint and VMWare technologies. Also have exceptional communication skills, a thorough understanding of IT systems management best practices and outstanding customer service for the values, procedures and standards found in an higher education environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Proficient in:
Microsoft Active Directory
Windows File/Print Services
Microsoft Exchange Server
Experience in:
Multi-factor Authentication (Azure MFA and Duo Security)
VMWare v Sphere/v CAC/v RA/NSX
VDI (Windows Virtual Desktop and VMware Horizon)
Authentication (Open ID Connect, SAML2)
2. Provides 24/7 support for mission critical systems that supports 50,000+ students, faculty, staff and affiliates university wide including the Health Science Center (HSC) and branches.
3. Responsible for meeting audit compliance including but not limited to FERPA, HIPAA, PCI, GLBA and Export control.
4. Provides central management and support for over 300 servers and 5000+ workstations.
5. Provides technical leadership on a variety of highly specialized projects requiring expertise on core information technology systems and services with direct and positive impact to user experience and security at UNM.
6. Serves as subject matter expert for WES team’s enterprise- wide services.
7. Plans, coordinates and executes the development, implementation, installation, upgrades, migrations and testing of complex enterprise systems.
8. Designs and implements integrated information systems solutions to meet university requirements.
9. May supervise/lead other technical team members.
10. Manages Cherwell tasks effectively and completes them by their due dates while providing outstanding customer service.
11. Monitors core service infrastructure and scales up as demand increases.
12. Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities for automation via scripting, job scheduling and related disciplines.
13. Documents and publishes information and instructions on systems, services and processes.
14. Troubleshoots, assists and resolves hardware, software, connectivity and security problems.
15. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant technologies and systems.
16. Provides on-call support for WES team’s services.
