Continuing Education Program Developer

Job Summary:
The Continuing Education Program Developer is responsible for creating, managing and growing non-credit, professional development programs to expand the current portfolio of offerings. The Program Developer will serve as the Director of Education for ICF certified courses and ensure that the coaching programs meet all requirements for accreditation. Ongoing analysis of the market, competition, and the industry direct efforts to expand programs and remain current. Based on audience preferences, the Program Developer will also work to determine appropriate modalities. Responsibilities include working with teams across the unit in planning and scheduling courses, creating budgets, marketing, hiring and managing subject matter instructors, working directly with learners and organizations on their professional development needs.

(30%) Implement and instruct non-credit continuing education programming:
  • Develop and instruct new courses/programs/certificates to complement current offerings
  • Work with other areas within the Division of Continuing Studies to support marketing, administrative, and course development efforts
  • Work closely with individual learners and organizations
  • Ensure that the programs meet or exceed ICF requirements for certification as needed
(10%) Develop and Implement operating policies:
  • Identify growth areas through market research and analysis that reflect the changing needs of program participants.
  • Document business and growth plans during the yearly planning cycle and throughout the fiscal year.
(30%) Review recommendations for new program development:
  • Plan and deliver a portfolio of courses/certificates based on feedback
  • Maintain portfolio of courses, review course evaluation and assessments
  • Request and gather research to guide portfolio development
(10%) May monitor budgets and approve expenditures:
  • Analyze and report program financials and enrollment trends to noncredit leadership as needed
  • Specific areas of responsibility include program plans/budgets, maintaining the portfolio of courses
(20%) Curriculum curation and instructional support:
  • Identify and hire qualified instructors
  • Coordinate overall structure of programming to meet learner needs
  • Provide training for instructors as needed for online delivery of curriculum or other best practices for adult instruction
  • Ongoing evaluation of programs
Responsibilities:
Provides guidance for program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and/or supervises non-credit staff. Applies and implements tools and technology that support continuing education opportunities to the institution.
  • 30% Supervises the implementation of non-credit continuing education-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
  • 10% Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the non-credit program in alignment with the strategic plan
  • 10% May monitor the unit or program budget and approve program expenditures
  • 30% Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new non-credit programs or services
  • 5% Identifies subject matter experts to create course materials and teach courses
  • 5% Monitors market research data to identify sustainable programming
  • 10% Instruct non-credit programming

Qualifications:
Required experience:
  • Experience in creating, developing, and growing non-credit/professional development programs
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in professional coaching
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, hiring and supporting subject matter experts and/or instructors
  • Demonstrated ability to identify the market need, associated industries, and the audiences for each program through market data and competitive analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in forming and expanding partnerships with relevant organizations/associations that provide industry standards, certifications, or other credentialing.
  • PCC or higher certification from International Coaching Federation (ICF)

Preferred other knowledge, skills, abilities or experience:
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and supporting subject matter experts and/or instructors
  • 2 years of experience creating and managing programs through various modalities
  • Experience creating non-credit certificates, badges, or microcredentials
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems
  • A commitment to inclusive program design and instruction
Work Type:
Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Minimum $56,112 ANNUAL (12 months)
