Alabama Bone and Joint Clinic, LLC is an Orthopedic group in Pelham, AL. Our office is looking to fill the role of Clinical Coordinator to work alongside designated physician. Role Summary Work effectively with physician to assist with both clinical and administrative aspects of individualized patient care. Coordinate with front desk staff regarding scheduling and patient requests. Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the nursing field. Appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, staff members, and administrator. Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
Triage patients prior to visit with physician
Provide education about medical procedures and processes to patients
Provide referrals for continuing care
Schedule tests and surgery for patients
Verify insurance coverage as well as authorization prior to surgery
Assist with in-office procedures
Responsible for returning patient phone calls pertaining to patient care
Compliance with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Practice Administrator and/or Physician
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Current license and registration for either RN/ LPN/CMA
1 year minimum experience in medical office/clinic setting*
Significant experience can substitute education requirements**
Participates in continuing education*
Preferred Skills
Previous experience in orthopedic care preferred*
Excellent oral and written communication skills**
Familiarity with health insurance**
Mastery of necessary clinical procedures as appropriate for nursing position**
Ability to adapt to different and changing circumstances**
Detail oriented with excellent computer proficiency skills**
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and present information and respond to questions from patients, co-workers, administrator and physicians**
May be required to travel to satellite clinic*
Typical Physical Demands Position entails frequent and considerable changing of positions such as walking, sitting, standing and bending. Ability to consistently operate a computer, keyboard, and other office machinery such as telephones, printers, etc. Ability to sufficiently use and operate necessary medical supplies. Will need to move about clinic and clinic coordinator space to access machinery and resources as needed. Job Type: Full-time Benefits:
