The Classroom Behavioral Aid provides support to the teacher and School-Based therapist in the designated CEP (Counseling Enrich Program) classroom, ESN (Extensive Support Needs) classroom, and in other general education classes. The aid will assist with academic, behavioral, and emotional interventions with students in the Santa Rosa City Schools district.

Skills/Responsibilities:

Maintains an appropriate workplace environment that promotes the health and safety of staff and students

Follows classroom structure created by teacher, therapist, and other school personnel

Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning and social skills

Supports students in utilizing positive coping skills and helps with de-escalation and crisis management

Assists in the implementation of the IEPs for the student and helps monitor progress

Models conversation, manners, cleanup activities, listening, and everyday interactions for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social behavior in a culturally sensitive manner

Documents student’s daily activities (e.g. behavior, assignment completion, etc.) as instructed

Assists classroom teachers with maintaining student records/files

Performs clerical duties as assigned that relate to specific student needs

Participates in the creation and implementation of a social/emotional/behavior plan

Implements the classroom behavior motivation/reinforcement system

Works with other professionals, such as speech therapist, social worker, etc.

Responds to emergency situations (e.g. injured students, fights, etc.) for the purpose of resolving safety concerns

Communicates with teachers and other district personnel for the purpose of assisting in evaluating progress and/or implementing IEP objectives

Attends or provides information for IEPs

Assists in the development and implementation of curriculum per teacher instructions

Accurately documents all services provided, including billing
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field
-
Experience in a classroom setting
-
Experience in behavioral management and reinforcement
-
Ability to pass background check and TB test
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
COVID-19 considerations:
All staff must either prove full vaccination OR show negative test results each week, as long as such public health orders are in place. Regular cleaning of office/work areas.
