Chemist ( Field Work and Environmental )

The Field Chemist Position reports to the Senior Operations Manager of Greer Enterprises. This position utilizes a combination of education and regulatory knowledge to Inventory waste, package waste, and support transportation of waste under current USEPA RCRA/USDOT regulations. The person in this position must be detail-oriented, able to work autonomously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Job duties:
1. Complete Lab-Pack projects as assigned by supervisory personnel.
2. Prepare Inventories of waste for different industries.
3. Work on Household Hazardous Waste projects, assisting with waste segregation & packaging.
4. Perform in a driver capacity as needed.
5. Be able to complete internal administrative paperwork necessary to initiate, execute & complete projects.
6. Prepare accurate waste profiles for approval of waste streams into appropriate waste facilities.
7. Sampling of various waste streams for waste characterization under federal state and local guidelines.
8. Fill out chains-of-custody for sample analysis.
9. Prepare accurate waste manifests and Bills-of-Lading for waste shipment.
10. Be able to perform field work.
Secondary Job duties:
11. Account for utilization daily on a time sheet. Turn in time sheet at the close-of-business on Friday afternoons.
12. Account for site work on a daily work ticket/report.
Job Requirements:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science is preferred. Industry experience may be substituted if all other qualifications are met.
- Possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be a detailed-oriented person and must have the ability to multi-task.
- Possess a working knowledge of federal USEPA (RCRA) and USDOT regulations pertaining to waste management and the ability to find and disseminate state environmental regulations.
- Have a detailed understanding of the responsibilities of each department within Greer Enterprises, LLC as well as the responsibilities of all co-workers.
- Ability to work with others as a team and to maintain a positive attitude.
- Have a working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Know the expectations and the promises lined out in the Greer Enterprises Employer/Employee Bill of Rights.
- Availability to travel and stay overnight.
