Carpentry Instructor

Description: Assist in shaping the next generation of carpenters and help them develop the skills needed to excel in their careers.
As a Carpentry Instructor in our accelerated vocational, pre-apprentice program, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students on the fundamentals of carpentry. We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual who is passionate about teaching and has a deep understanding of carpentry.
Full and part time instructors are eligible for paid time off, holiday pay, medical benefits, 401K with match Responsibilities:

Deliver lesson plans developed and approved by IKO Regional Council of Carpenters that cover the fundamentals of carpentry, including safety procedures, tool usage, and construction techniques.
Provide hands-on instruction and demonstration to students in a variety of carpentry techniques, including framing, roofing, and finishing work.
Evaluate student progress and provide feedback on their performance, including grading assignments and exams.
Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to continuously improve the curriculum and instructional materials.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years carpentry experience in the industry
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and safety procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all levels
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
