Evanston Child Development Center is seeking a Business Manager to oversee financial functions and compliance for our Head Start/Early Head Start program. Responsibilities include accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, grant/contract management, and audit preparation. Previous non-profit accounting experience and familiarity with Head Start programs are desirable. Key Responsibilities:
Manage grant applications, ensuring compliance with federal/state requirements. Grant writing experience a plus.
Provide guidance on contract compliance and fund management.
Prepare and revise budgets, monitor expenditures, and conduct financial forecasts.
Manage payable, receivable, and billing accounts.
Maintain audit-ready fiscal documents and liaise with external auditors.
Oversee financial operations and supervise inventory management.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Quick Books.
Knowledge of laws and regulations related to Head Start programs.
Experience in grant management and financial reporting.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
