Responsibilities:
  • Clear understanding of all sales and service aspects of the Beer/Wine Department
  • Exhibit passion for providing excellent customer service
  • Receive and stock products using department guidelines for merchandising, rotation, and pricing
  • Educate our customers about beers and wines and assist them with selections
  • Follow department procedures for handling new products and price changes
  • Assist with inventories, special events and other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Previous retail and sales experience
  • Solid knowledge of beers and of wines, as well as current trends
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to learn quickly
  • Desire to deliver world class customer service to all guests
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
