Job Summary: The Hotel Beach & Activities Coordinator is responsible for providing a casual yet extremely fun and safe all-inclusive beach experience that exceeds guest expectations. The ideal candidate must be an approachable ambassador of the resort by having a professional and friendly attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety of all swimmers and guests using the beach resort facilities
- Ensures that the pool and beach area is clean and tidy at all times (straightens chairs, tend to umbrellas, pick up trash)
- Stocks beach towels throughout day
- Maintains beach gear including chairs, kayaks, hobie cat, snorkel gear, paddleboards, windsurfers, games and report repair and replacement needs to manager
- Assists landscaping with beach upkeep
- Checks beach for non-guests and collects payment for beach chairs
- Creates and leads resort activities and engages with guests as appropriate
- Promotes coral reef safety and sustainability
- Performs all opening and closing duties
- Makes informative and professional recommendations to guests when requested
- Instructs guests on proper use of watersports equipment
- Provides water sports instruction
- Preps beach and pool for incoming storms
- Encourages guests to participate in activities
- Performs first aid/rescues when necessary
- Participates in beach longevity projects
- Assesses guest competence and uses good judgement when allowing them to utilize watersports equipment
Education and Experience
- High School or equivalent education (required)
- CPR, First Aid Certification (required)
- Prior experience in operating watersports equipment (1 year required)
- Two or more years’ experience in the hotel activities area (preferred)
- Experience in sustainability/environmental science/ marine science (preferred)

Qualifications and Requirements
- Excellent swimmer (will undergo practical assessment if selected as a candidate)
- Availability to work long shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Must be flexible with shifts
- Must follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Must be willing to cross train as boat crew and concierge
- Always be aware and attentive to guest needs
- Ability to stand, lift and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 80lbs or more combined with twisting, bending or working on uneven surfaces
- Must stay alert in all conditions
- Occasional strenuous physical work requiring strength and endurance with exposure to environmental conditions.
Compensation: $14.00 Hourly
