Position Highlights
As an Arizona Project WET (APW) Outreach Coordinator, you will join a dedicated team that develops and delivers water-focused, experiential, environmental-education programs for Arizona’s students and teachers. Through authentic, relevant, and meaningful engagement, you deepen understanding of Arizona’s water availability, accessibility, use, and sustainability. You tell Arizona’s water story; empowering water-literate students, educators, leaders, and professionals to take action as mindful, lifelong stewards of Arizona’s precious resources.
Position requires a valid AZ driver's license and ability to drive to programs throughout the state of Arizona. This position is in Maricopa County. As an employee of the University of Arizona; all employees must pass a background check.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that program objectives and outcomes are met in accordance with established priorities, timeframes, funding, and other specifications.
- Utilize Microsoft Outlook 365 to enhance the organization, accessibility, and transparency of material across the team.
- This position reports to the Manager/Director (of APW) and is a participating member of the dynamic, cooperative, statewide APW team.
- Determine priorities in accordance with grant objectives, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Develop schedules, oversee daily operations, and coordinate the program calendar.
- Maintain data points, summarize results, and support the compilation of various program reports.
- Develop, compile and disseminate program Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Connect, collaborate, and nurture relationships with community partners: K-12 personnel, government agencies, NGOs, and corporate sponsors.
- Promote UArizona water education initiatives and APW programs.
- Enthusiastically deliver APW programming with exceptional skill: meaningfully connect content to participant and participant to action, ensuring attainment of measurable outcomes.
- Build rapport with students, teachers, and the APW team to deliver quality programming, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
- Collaborative members of the APW Team are expected to offer/provide technical advice, insights into best practices, creative problem-solving, and reflection on performance.
- The Outreach Coordinator is both coach and colleague, supporting the whole team: Volunteers, APW Outreach Specialists, other APW Coordinators, as well as the Program Manager.
Physical requirements:
- The ability to lift and move equipment, up to 25 pounds, for programs will be required on a regular basis.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- The ideal candidate for this position is adept at balancing projects with production-type schedules and effectively communicating.
- Demonstrate strategic time management and sound judgement.
- Can synthesize AZ academic standards, STEAM integration, informal-education best practices, and workplace procedures.

Skilled at public speaking and engaging large groups.
- Most APW programs are facilitated in outdoor, public spaces for large blocks of the event day.
- Many APW programs are attended by hundreds of participants: students, educators, and volunteers.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with moderate guidance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy and ability to drive to programs throughout state of Arizona.
- Occasionally the position requires vehicle hauling; driving a motor pool truck while pulling a 14' cargo trailer.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
