Audit Associate
Job Summary:
Small CPA firm located on the north side of Columbus is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. The Audit Associate will be responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of financial audits. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and grow their career in public accounting.
Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. At least one year audit experience required. Governmental/single audit experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Perform substantive testing procedures to verify the accuracy of financial statements and disclosures
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls
- Prepare workpapers and documentation to support audit findings and conclusions
- Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement in audit processes
- Stay up-to-date on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends
- Assist in the preparation of audit reports and presentations for management
Qualities:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles, including GAAP and GAAS
- Experience with financial analysis and interpretation of financial statements
- Familiarity with internal audits, regulatory reporting, and general ledger accounting
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Flexibility to travel within the state of Ohio to perform duties as assigned (estimated 20% travel annually, car required).
