Enrollment Services and UAA Admissions is seeking an Assistant Director of Communications. If you are interested in this position we invite you to apply! This position manages the admission communication team in development and implementation of print, digital and promotional communication to prospective and new students. As part of the admissions leadership team, they support the Executive Director of Admissions in developing goals and implementing long term recruitment plans. The Assistant Director collaborates with University Advancement and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Services in broad recruitment marketing efforts.
To thrive in this role a successful candidate would have strong written and verbal communication skills. Applicable knowledge in persuasive and informative writing, creation of visual images and multimedia materials in support of specific public relations and communication goals is preferred. One should also have the knowledge of cross-cultural communications and knowledge in selection and application of appropriate software and tools for communication. Advance computer skills in one or more of the following: graphic, photographic, desktop publishing and/or web design software and database. The ability to conduct communications research and evaluation as directed will also be helpful.
Ideal candidates would have knowledge of communications theory and application in research, execution and evaluation of communications functions, best practices and industry standards. The ability to work and solve problems independently. Ability to provide advice and guidance in relevant technical areas. Ability to conduct evaluations of technical (e.g. design, photography, videography) aspects of projects. Ability to operate specialized equipment, and the Ability to supervise.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor degree in public relations, graphic arts, journalism, communication, or closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution and four years of progressively responsible communications experience relevant to the program, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Position Details: This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
