Summary: Under supervision and direction of OR leadership, assists the environmental services team with cleaning of the Operating rooms, Sterile Core, OR storage room, and hallways around ORs.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Operating Room turnovers to include assisting environmental services with the removal of trash/contaminated linens and completion of environmental cleaning, equipment cleaning and movement back to designated storage area. Takes precautionary steps to limit transmission of microorganism while performing environmental cleaning and handling of contaminated wastes.
- Performs end of procedure cleaning and return of equipment to designated space.
- All items in contact with the patient are cleaned and returned to their storage location.
- Performs daily cleaning of lead gowns and follows safe storage recommendations.
- Damp dust all horizontal surfaces before first scheduled procedures .
- Responsible for acquiring equipment, supplies, and positioning devices needed for next surgical intervention.
- Responsibility to notify OR leadership of identified equipment issues and initiation of repair work orders.
- As delegated by the OR team has responsibility to assist with surgical site preparation to include the holding of limbs.
- Responsible for assisting with case cart preparation for the next surgical intervention to include supplies and instrumentation as outlined on the procedural pick list.
- Assist with patient preparation as directed by the OR RN.
- Responsible to assist the OR team with patient transfer to and from the bed/stretcher to the OR table.
- Responsible to assist the OR team with patient transports to and from the ORs and inpatient units.
- Obtain patient positioning aides.
- Assist OR team with placement of positioning aides
- Responsible for the transport of specimens to the laboratory and transport of blood products to the Operating Room.
- Transport of specimens to the laboratory.
- Follow standard precautions to prevent contact with blood, body tissue or other potentially infectious materials.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

Current Basic Life Support card required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Preferred experience in the health care setting performing environmental services and or customer service for patients and family members.
