We are seeking a dedicated Anesthesia Assistant to aid in the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia services in various office locations. A Dentist Anesthesiologist will be present at all times throughout the procedure and will never leave the room where anesthesia services are provided. We are currently seeking individuals with prior experience in direct patient care, such as paramedics, EMTs, and nurses. No prior anesthesia or ICU experience is necessary, as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided, including pre-op interviews, charting, and equipment handling. We are looking for 1-2 individuals willing to work 1-5 shifts per week. This position offers hourly pay up to $35 per hour with ACLS and PALS certifications. Otherwise, starting pay would be $30 per hour with only a BLS certification. Typical start times are around 6:30-7:00 AM, with shifts ending around 3-4:00 PM, depending on the number and duration of cases for the day. Our services are provided in offices throughout the Greater Rochester, NY and Finger Lakes area. You will be responsible for your transportation to and from offices. Most offices are within Monroe County, though some travel up to approximately one hour from Rochester may be necessary Certifications Required: Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Certifications Preferred: Current certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required. Duties
Patient and Parent Interviews: Conduct pre-procedure interviews with patients and/or their guardians to confirm relevant medical history.
Assisting with Anesthesia Equipment: Assist the anesthesia provider by handing off necessary equipment during procedures, including during intubation or IV insertion.
Airway Management: Assist in monitoring and managing the patient’s airway during sedation and anesthesia, including holding a mask.
Medical Charting: Continuously monitor and chart patients’ vital signs during the procedures.
Post-Anesthesia Care: Assist in monitoring patients during recovery and providing post-procedure care instructions.
Skills
Collaboration: Work closely with anesthesiologists, dentists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive anesthesia care tailored to each patient.
Experience: Prior experience in anesthesia, critical care, or emergency medicine settings is preferred, but not required
Technical Skills: Proficiency in airway management, and the use of monitoring equipment.
Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, particularly in medical charting and patient monitoring.
Adaptability: Ability to work in various office settings and adapt to different clinical environments.
