We are looking for an Anesthesia Technician to join our growing surgical department. The ideal candidate is compassionate, humble, and honest. You will utilize your clinical knowledge while working with a team that functions with a great deal of autonomy and responsibility. We pride ourselves on providing an environment where team members feel safe to learn and seek guidance from one another. Education/Experience Requirements:
Minimum requirement of 2 years of specialty veterinary anesthesia experience
High school diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited veterinary technician program
Current Oregon State Veterinary Technician License is required
A criminal background check will be required for all positions that handle controlled substances within our hospital
Essential Job Functions:
Develop anesthetic protocols tailored to individual patient needs
Anesthetic induction, monitoring and recovery of ASA I-IV patients
All aspect of patient care including pre-op and post-op care
Perform local and regional anesthetic techniques
Anesthetic maintenance using a mechanical ventilator
Perform lab work and diagnostic imaging
Accurate medical record keeping
Admitting and discharging of surgical patients
Coordination with other members of the surgery team to ensure appropriate patient care
Skills Required:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Accurate drug dosage calculations
Understanding of physiology and pharmacology to give appropriate patient care
Appropriate radiographic technique
Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
Enteral and parenteral medication administration
Ability to provide both basic and advanced life support during CPR
Ability to consistently demonstrate efficiency, accuracy and thoroughness
Desire to develop and progress in their own knowledge and skills
Requires lifting up to 50 lbs
