After School Program Assistant

D.A.F.T Youth Services Inc. or Dandelions Are Flowers Too, is an organization that offers supportive services including academic support, mental health counseling, and life skills to students in Newburgh.
Our program is seeking individuals to join us and serve as a Program Assistant. We view this as an opportunity to help teach, encourage and instill passion, self awareness and personal growth skills to our youth. You will engage the student/s in activities that promote healthy and normative social-emotional skills. The program runs from 2:00pm-5:00pm Monday -Thursday
Responsibilities include:
1. Assist with opening and closing of the after school program daily
2. Monitor student behavior, provide support as needed, and foster a positive, safe environment.
3. Act as a positive role model and liaison between the school and students families.
4. Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and communicating with parents.
5. Support with Social Emotional Learning workshops for families and students as needed
6. Help set up and clean up after activities, maintaining a tidy and organized space
7. Ensure program policies and safety guidelines are followed, addressing any issues promptly to maintain a well-structured environment.
Education/Experience:
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 per hour

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
- Social Services experience/ case management
- Ability to connect with young individuals
Job Type: Contract
