Admissions Counselor, Transfers is responsible for recruitment of qualified transfer undergraduate students in targeted areas, including advising them on every aspect of the admissions process as well as information regarding the University. The counselor represents the University through on- and off-campus presentations to prospective students, their families, and transfer guidance professionals and is part of the Transfer Admissions Team. The Team is responsible for meeting department goals and expectations and in a selective admissions environment, reviews and evaluates applications for transfer admission to the University.

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid driver license with good driving record - must be insurable.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability:
Enthusiasm about higher education and Stevenson University
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Excellent customer service skills
Must be able to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, and/or governmental regulations as well as statistical information.
Must be able to respond directly to questions asked by prospective students, their parents, guidance professionals, and the general public in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills as well as interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
Knowledge of Colleague and Slate or experience working in a relational database, CRM preferred.
Math aptitude is required to correctly calculate mathematical problems such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
To properly handle and reasonably control any situation which may arise. Exhibit moral and ethical behavior and decision making.
Interpret a variety of instructions as given whether in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Traveling is a requirement of this position.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Requires physical abilities consistent with a busy office environment on a university campus. Requires ability to speak for extended periods of time, lift/move boxes of University promotional materials up to 40 pounds, and drive to off-campus locations for recruitment activities. Daily work with computers, monitors, copy machines and other office equipment.
Essential Functions:
Recruit prospective transfer students in assigned territory like but not limited to community colleges in the Mid-Atlantic area
Visit community colleges, places of business, and other academic settings applicable to the transfer population to promote the University thru presentations and other events
Establish good working relationships with transfer coordinators, counselors, and academic representatives in the community college setting
Counsel and advise students, their parents/guardians, as well as transfer guidance professionals on every aspect of the admissions process including application requirements, deadlines, academic programs, transfer of credits, activities and criteria for scholarships and financial aid
Present admissions information sessions for prospective transfer students and their families.
Conduct on- and off-campus interviews and presentations to prospective students and guidance professionals.
Provide information and applicable resources to phone and e-mail queries.
Review transfer applications for admission, verify and evaluate credentials, and recommend acceptance decisions based on institutional guidelines. Provide assessments of student ability as a member of the Admissions Committee.
Maintain a working knowledge of the computer system and programs used by the admissions staff, including but not limited to Colleague, Slate, and Microsoft Office.
Maintain an adequate working knowledge of basic and sometimes sensitive information about Stevenson University, its Admissions policies, and the academic offerings of the University.
