Support Time and Recovery Worker - EIP

An exciting opportunity has come up to joint the Early Intervention in Psychosis Team as a Support time and recovery worker.

This post will be appointed to the London borough of havering (LBH) contract.

The hours per week are 36 hours

We are looking for a flexible and dynamic individual who enjoys working in a multi disciplinary team and has the capability to work independently in the community.

We would like someone who has experience of working in a community setting, who has worked independently with clients accessing services. We arrange regular appointments with our clients in order to provide 1:1 support to develop ADLs.

Our aim is focused on client recovery to enable people to live independently and achieve their desired goals.

MAIN DUTIES:
To visit Service Users and, in conjunction with the Senior STR Worker, make objective assessments, devise and implement effective individualised programmes of support.

To work independently as required.

To work in isolated situations with Service Users who may be vulnerable or at risk

To establish supportive and empowering relationships with the Service User and carer.

As identified in the care plan, enable Service User to maintain their own personal care needs.

To liaise with other agencies and any other relevant professional, in consultation with the Senior STR Worker and Support Services Manager

To maintain written reports and support programmes

To attend Care Programme Approach and other reviews as requested

To monitor and report any changes, both positive and negative, within the Service Users life to the Senior STR Worker.

To take appropriate courses of action in emergency

To act within the Council’s policies and procedures written in accordance with the Health & Safety At Work Act and comply with current risk assessments.

Provide support with daily living to empower people to live independent lives.

Help Service Users gain access to resources to include benefits, welfare rights and health promotion.

To ensure that the Service User understands who to contact within the different agencies involved in the care plan.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

This position is within the Early intervention in psychosis team.

We work with clients from age 14-65 and their support network.
Social integration is a massive part of the service which we provide as well as offering focused groups to support around physical health and wellbeing.

You would be part of an MDT and have the ability to support the growth of groups being offered and run with the EIP service.
