Shop Sales Assistant Part-Time

Looking for new Staff to join our team
Interested in Part-time Staff.
Our shop is open 7 days a week throughout the year so with Part-Time you should expect to work around 3 days a week depending on the week.
The main roles for our staff in the shop is to assist customers by serving from behind the delicatessen counter, slicing cooked meats using an electric meat slicer, cutting cheese to desired weight/size using a cheese wire or knife etc. We cook freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries daily and offer to make up freshly baked baguettes and rolls using what the customer wishes to choose from the counter and charge accordingly.
Roles include accepting deliveries checking the products are correct against the delivery note and refilling shelves and chilled areas checking the dates to ensure that stock is rotated correctly.
With any food orientated business cleanliness and good hygiene principals are essential, so there is cleaning going on through out the working day. There are daily and weekly schedules to be completed that nothing is missed.
We sell alcohol during the allowed hours and care must be taken to ensure that we only sell to persons who are of the correct age to legally purchase it, if in doubt proof of age must be asked for and established before the sale goes through.
Serving at the till point helping customers with their shopping and taking the correct money due for their purchases by cash, card or credit account.
Experience within the retail industry is not essential but an interest and some knowledge of food preparation would be an advantage.
Applicants must be willing to work as part of a team and be able to complete tasks under own initiative.
