Senior Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supervising care staff, developing care plans, and ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
Supervise and mentor junior care staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
Communicate effectively with residents to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring their dignity and respect at all times.
Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress using IT systems.
Drive initiatives to improve the quality of care provided within the home.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as company policies.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance personal skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Previous experience in senior care or a similar role within a care home environment is preferred
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with residents, families, and colleagues.
Proficient in using IT systems for documentation and record keeping.
A compassionate approach towards caring for seniors with varying needs.
Ability to drive initiatives that promote resident well-being and quality of life.
Relevant qualifications in health or social care needed such as level 3 QCF and registration with social care wales
