Senior Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supervising care staff, developing care plans, and ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Supervise and mentor junior care staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with residents to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring their dignity and respect at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress using IT systems.
  • Drive initiatives to improve the quality of care provided within the home.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as company policies.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance personal skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in senior care or a similar role within a care home environment is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficient in using IT systems for documentation and record keeping.
  • A compassionate approach towards caring for seniors with varying needs.
  • Ability to drive initiatives that promote resident well-being and quality of life.
  • Relevant qualifications in health or social care needed such as level 3 QCF and registration with social care wales

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.40-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
