QHSSE Co-ordinator

Overall Purpose of Role
The QHSSE Co-ordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organisation maintains rigorous HSSEQ standards. The QHSSE Co-ordinator will support the QHSSE Manager in ensuring workplace health and safety requirements are met in line with overall Venterra requirements. You will support the development of a positive health and safety culture where risks are managed sensibly to reduce accidents and ill health. The role will also focus on improvements in overall efficiency, quality and productivity as well as compliance with audit and legal requirements.
Relationships: Reports to Oceanscan HSSEQ Manager with indirect reporting into Venterra. Liaises with all staff, auditors and 3rd parties.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The responsibilities of the postholder will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Acting as first point of contact for queries into the department and ensure the company follows the Venterra Way for HSSEQ
  • Carrying out HSSEQ inductions for all new starters.
  • Assisting with the developing and presentation of training programs related to HSSEQ.
  • Reviewing and scheduling HSSEQ related training for all staff at all global sites.
  • Assisting with the development, implementation and maintenance of HSSEQ culture with regular review of processes and procedures.
  • Support the development and improvement of the company’s HSSEQ management systems.
  • Maintaining and updating HSSEQ documentation, including, reports, checklist, records.
  • Taking notes and producing minutes at all relevant meetings.
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with HSSEQ regulations and standards.
  • Conducting risk assessments for internal processes and maintaining a record of these
  • Assisting in accident/incident investigations and root cause analysis, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conducting regular HSSEQ audits and inspections, reporting findings and recommending corrective and preventative actions where appropriate.
  • Staying current on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Participating in emergency response planning and drills.
  • Assisting in the planning, coordination and execution of external audits and certifying bodies.
  • Assisting with contractors and building works requirements.
  • Conducting supplier management reviews with relevant internal departments.
  • Facilities Maintenance.
Experience and Qualifications
Desirable experience and qualifications are as follows:
  • Experience in a similar HSSEQ role ideally with Oil, Gas and/or Renewables sector
  • Certification in HSSEQ related discipline or willingness to work towards (e.g., NEBOSH /IOSH) desirable.
  • Internal auditor trained is ideal or willingness to work towards this.
  • Knowledge of HSSEQ regulations and standards.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Visio
Skills and Knowledge
  • Having a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how operations contribute to these.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with good analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, e.g. report writing, customer service
  • Knowledge of safety systems, quality control and environmental health

  • Ability to perform duties in a timely and organised manner with particular attention to maintaining the high QA standards already in place.

  • Participate in the leadership and commitment of QHSE to ensure there is zero harm to our people, the environment and equipment.
  • Take an active role in ensuring the quality of our products and services fully meets customer requirements.
  • Ensure you work in line with various areas of compliance, including but not restricted to Customs/Export Control/Import/Anti-Bribery/Quality Assurance (QA).
  • Ideally have a clean driving license and the ability to travel to global companies if necessary.
  • Maintain reasonable levels of fitness to carry out the role and actively participate in medicals and vaccinations where required.
