Project Worker: Day Opportunities

Purpose of role
The Project Worker will be responsible for the facilitation of day opportunities for adults with learning/intellectual disabilities and/or autism across four satellite’ hub sites within the Southern Health and Social Care Trust. The post will focus on supporting current and new service users engage in print, production and packaging activity as part of incred ABLE-y made; a conglomerate of day opportunities designed to provide greater independence and soft skills development, within a safe and creative space, mirroring a real social enterprise environment.
Responsible for:
1. Satellite Hub Participants
2. Satellite Hub Production
3. Supporting Hub Logistics/Communications
Role Specific duties -
1. Satellite Hub Participants
· Provide personal support to participants as required during sessions. This includes supporting with task and activities and may include, without limitation, moving and handling, personal care, assisting with eating, giving medication.
· Support participants in expressing and realising their goals, ensuring a person-centred approach for young adults with disabilities, promoting their active participation.
· Ensure content of day opportunity is engaging, meaningful and creative, represents value for money and adheres to the ethos of incred ABLE
· Act as an advocate where necessary with participants e.g. signposting to social/ health or wellbeing supports, referring on to other staff within incred ABLE or to other services.
· Address any behaviours of concern sensitively, seeking the advice of other people who know the individual (e.g. family members, health and social care professionals) to develop consistent and effective behaviour management support.
· Maintain awareness of Safeguarding procedures and the potential for abuse of vulnerable members, keeping written records and taking any immediate action required.
· Ensure participants and staff are involved in the planning, review and evaluation of the service.
· Assist the Services Coordinator deliver annual events/opportunities for participants, including a one-night residential stay at the incred ABLE Mourne Centre.
· Complete daily hub reports covering attendance figures, activity completion, and participant observations.
2. Supporting Hub Production
· Manage and oversee the production of day opportunity products (i.e. Chocolate, printed textiles etc) ensuring quality, sustainability and consistency across all satellite hub days.
· Coordinate packaging (or other piece work), in a timely manner or to deadline if required across all satellite hub days.
· Support Services Coordinator with monthly fulfilment of incred ABLE-y made Chocolate products for all third-party sellers/partners as well any packaging requirements for business partners
· Keep track of orders/stock across all hubs ensuring the monitoring and reducing of waste while delivering activities as per standard operating procedure.
· Record time, materials, and production details for job tracking and invoicing purposes.
· Support the wider team with coordination of trading events and opportunities to showcase our incred ABLE participants and promote incred ABLE-y made products and services.
· Contribute to the development of new activities alongside the incred ABLE-y made team, aligning with market trends/seasons and participant preferences.
· Ensure hub production is balanced with social/peer recreational time during the day and participants are inspired, empowered, included in all operations.
· Carry out all duties in compliance with Health and Safety policies, quality, and statutory regulations.
3. Satellite Hubs Logistics/Communications
· Take responsibility for the support and direction of day opportunities supporting staff and volunteer(s) including supervision ensuring that training needs are met.
· Ensure Services Coordinator is notified of staffing changes or cover required (due to sickness etc) in a timely manner as per Standard Operating Procedure.
· Support the planning and delivery of print, packaging or production activities across all Satellite hub days as directed by Services Coordinator ensuring optimal communications with head Enterprise hub@Richhill.
· Manage the devolved budget for day opportunity provision, ensuring that incred ABLE’s procedures and financial safeguards are complied with, including processing petty cash.
· Work with other services to ensure best use of resources i.e. staff training, transport, equipment etc.
· Operate and maintain print/production/packaging workspace, ensuring regular cleaning and maintaining a 5-star hygiene rating.
· Handle complaints in accordance with policy.
· Monitor and report maintenance problems with Satellites hubs.
· Ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
· Adhere to all health and safety requirements, including PPE, manual handling, and equipment operation and maintenance.
Flexibility and Professionalism:
· Work flexibly to meet the needs of project participants, including evening and weekend working.
· Conduct all duties in a manner consistent with incred ABLE’s policies and procedures.
· Demonstrate professionalism, cooperation, and flexibility in line with the needs of the post and the organization.
