Oral Health Improvement Practitioner (OHIP) for Vulnerable Adults, Learning Disabilities and with Dementia
This is a part-time post based within the Community Dental Service at Llanfrechfa Grange Hospital.
The post holder will be required to operate in a range of locations across Gwent.
Provide comprehensive Oral Health Promotion training for patients, healthcare workers and carers as required.
To develop and deliver comprehensive Oral Health Promotion (OHP) and training for vulnerable adults with complex medical and physical needs and their carers.
Working autonomously to deliver Gwen am Byth a lasting smile programme for OHP vulnerable adults living in the community.
Individuals working in OHP will need to demonstrate competence in areas of specialist knowledge, quality improvement, education, presentation, organisation and resource use and management.
A thorough understanding of the Gwen am Byth programme and implement all aspects of the programme.
To have a good understanding of special care dentistry and be able to provide preventative care such as fluoride varnish application as required.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
