Hospitality Supervisor

Job Overview
Are you a Hospitality Super Star with a passion for speciality coffee & great food? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hospitality Supervisor with strong Barista skills and Coffee knowledge to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the hospitality industry, particularly in supervising restaurant/cafe and kitchen staff. This role requires exceptional team management skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Our supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all food preparation and production meets the highest standards while fostering a positive working environment.

Duties
  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the restaurant and kitchen staff, ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Oversee food preparation and production processes to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Assist in training new staff members in hospitality practices, food handling, and customer service.
  • Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to ensure efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with chefs and cooks to develop menus that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Implement health and safety regulations within the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Monitor staff performance, providing guidance and support to promote team development.
  • Plan events, buffets & outside catering.
  • Seek new business opportunities for our growing catering side of the business- (bonuses attached to this )
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, production techniques, and kitchen operations. Food Hygiene certificate (level 2 ) desirable.
  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of individuals.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to food service is preferred.
  • A passion for hospitality and commitment to creating memorable experiences for guests.
We are an independent family owned restaurant that has been open for 8 years. There are lots of opportunities within our business to grow with us! Were are looking for an experienced individual to take on a Supervisory role to assist one of the Co-owners of the business with the operational side of things. Applicants should be enthusiastic, positive and confident to work in a fast paced environment. We provide delicious and creative food and speciality tea, coffee, as well as craft wine & beer, so a keen interest in all areas would be ideal.
What are we looking for?
Someone to support the management team in the daily tasks of the business management.
Experience in Social Media and Marketing
Outgoing person who can maintain a professional and friendly manner at all times, are able to boost staff moral, not afraid of getting their hands dirty to lead by example!
Ability to organise events such as Baby-showers, Anniversaries, Wedding Receptions, Birthday Parties, as well speciality evenings in the restaurant once a month.
Experience in staff rota's.
Great knowledge of social media marketing & great at taking creative shots & videos of food & drink.

Passionate team member who pays great attention to detail.
Experience in outside catering to help expand this growing side of the business.
Someone with outstanding communication and organisational skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a front of house environment & have excellent barista skills.
Comfortable with stock takes, ordering, knowledge in EHO / level2 certificate in food hygien, knowledge of COSHH (guidance and training will be given).

Duties
- Train and mentor new staff members, providing guidance on proper food handling and service techniques
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for food and beverage supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the manager to develop and implement strategies for improving efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Address customer concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of bartending or coffee preparation is a plus
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.00-£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
